Fidel Castro, former president of Cuba and leader has died at the age of 90, after battling illness for a long time.

During his reign as the president and leader of Cuba, he was known for his revolutionary motives and his passion for the oppressed and the common man.

It will be recall Fidel Castro was a president who escaped 634 assassination plots from various substances and ways.

Castro died in the evening of Friday 25th November 2016 at about 10:29pm .

It was announced on Cuban National TV by current president, Raul Castro, who happens to be brother of the late former president.

While making the announcement, Raul said: "Dear people of Cuba, with deep sadness I inform our people, the friends of our America and the world, that today the commander in chief of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, has died"

Fidel Castro will be cremated on Saturday before a period of nine national days of mourning, the Cuban president, who is currently 85 said.
