After the Nigeria's Minister of transport made a statement against the Niger Delta development, His colleague the minister of petroleum disagreed with him by saying, federal government has putting a lot of resources and that it should be looked into and continue the process of developing the Niger Delta.
Amaechi and Kachikwu
The Transportation minister and his colleague, the petroleum minister argued about the relocating of the maritime university. The minister of petroleum accused the transportation minister of sabotaging the development of the Niger Delta region.
"The two Nigeria Ministers openly disagreed with one another over the relocation of the marine-time university in Okerenkoko, Delta state in a federal government town hall meeting held in Uyo.
"Kachikwu the minister of petroleum said the university project should be developed as minister of transport has already kicked against it, that whatever project in Niger Delta should be developed that no amount of money can stop the government from doing so even while Amaechi the transportation minister claimed that a land alone was being sold for 13 billion naira.
"Kachikwu in his words said, he will continue to pursue the Niger Delta development even if Amaechi is kicking against the project of marine-time that you cannot throw away the baby with bath water. and if the minister of transport continue to reject it as marine university that he the petroleum minister will take it up as petroleum university.
In the effort to bring negotiations to the table, Kachikwu again disagreed with his colleague, saying there is no place in the world were violence is being resolved by violence that there is no superiority in negotiation.
Amaechi before brought the matter before the Nigeria senate committee briefing them of the cancellation of the marine-time university.
