After a successful presidential general election that saw a property developer, Adama Barrow unseat Yahya Jammeh, the current president who has been in power for the past 22-years, which also brought so many jubilation to the entire country and shocked the world, Mr Jammeh conceded defeated after the results was announced and personally called Mr Barrow to congratulate him.
But with the current report, the president is now refusing to accept defeat, claiming the election was inappropriate and call for a re-run of election, which have brought surprise to the nation and the world in general.
The Gambia president made it known when he appeared on TV as he called for a fresh presidential election after labeling the election as "abnormal"
The president came to power in 1994 through a coup and he has been in power, Mr Jammeh once said, nothing can remove him from power and if ruling for as many as possible, he will gladly do that except Allah remove him.

It appears he wants to remain in that power by all means but the wish of the people is what matters, except he wants to bring chaos into the country of about 2 million people, Jammeh lost the election after Mr Barrow won more than 45% of the votes.
Reacting, the Mark Toner, the state department spokesperson of US said: "This action is a reprehensible and unacceptable breach of faith with the people of The Gambia and an egregious attempt to undermine a credible election process and remain in power illegitimately".

The international body have strongly condemned Mr Jammeh's statement of demanding for a fresh election.Reacting, the Mark Toner, the state department spokesperson of US said: "This action is a reprehensible and unacceptable breach of faith with the people of The Gambia and an egregious attempt to undermine a credible election process and remain in power illegitimately".
There will be chaos if he refuses to handover
The opposition candidate, Mr Barrow is to take office in January but from the way things are going, is like it will not be possible but the transition team leader of Mr Barrow, Mr Mai Ahmad Fatty has told Reuters, they will be "consulting on what to do", adding: "As far as we are concerned, the people have voted. We will maintain peace and stability and not let anyone provoke us into violence."

"I lament serious and unacceptable abnormalities which have reportedly transpired during the electoral process.
"I recommend fresh and transparent elections which will be officiated by a God-fearing and independent electoral commission."
