Adam Johnson who is a footballer was sent to prison for six years in March 2016 after sexually molesting a 15-year-old school-girl, has put up his mansion for sale.

A report from Chronicle Live has it that, Johnson, 29, had earlier admitted kissing the underage girl in his parked up Range Rover in 2015 and grooming the schoolgirl.

He was cleared of another count of sexual activity with a child.

Adam Johnson had applied for an appeal for his sentence but earlier in the week a judge threw out the former Black Cat’s star’s application,  but his lawyers have said they plan to renew the application.

Johnson lived at the Castle Eden mansion, in County Durham, with his girlfriend Stacey Flounders and their baby daughter.

Miss Flounders is currently just a friend to her former boyfriend but stood by Johnson during his court proceedings

She was reported to have moved out of the home in the weeks after Johnson started his sentence at Moorland Prison in South Yorkshire.

Johnson bought the five-bedroom home in 2012 for £1,575,000 and will make a tidy £320,000 profit on the house if he manages to sell the house at the asking price of £1,895,000.

The dream home boasts a gym, putting green and personalized cinema room and sits in 2.2 acres of land with security fencing and gates.

The judge’s ruling on why Johnson’s application to appeal was rejected is expected to be made public in the next few days.

It is said that when a request for an appeal is rejected, the application can be renewed and considered by a full court.

But if the judge who first rejected the appeal thinks there is "no merit" in the application, a convict who renews their appeal could be penalized with a loss of time order, which would effectively extend their sentence.

Johnson is reportedly working as a hairdresser in Moorland prison’s barber shop, earning £20-a-week.
