Demba Ba, the former Chelsea striker broke his leg by an opponent in Chinese Super League match

Demba Ba suffered a horrific leg break on Sunday when Shanghai Shenhua met rivals Shanghai SIPG FC in a China league game.

Ba, who has notched 20 goals in 29 games since moving to the Super League club in 2015, tangled with an opposing player when his left leg took the blow. It was an innocuous challenge and was something seemingly out of nothing.

The incident occurred in the 72nd minute and the 31-year-old was immediately substituted for former Inter Milan ace Obafemi Martins.

Shenhua were losing 1-0 at the time, but Ba will be pleased to know his side managed to turn over the deficit and win 2-1.
