MRP-300 weapon
Russia has unveil new weapon capable of scaling wall of up to a meter high and it is said to be use in rescue missions.
The MRP-300 its official name is two meters (six-and-a-half feet) long and can carry hundreds of kilogrammes of combat gear.
Vladimir Putin’s military will use the robotic "caterpillar" to carry out rescue missions in disaster zones and assist troops in war-zones.
The machine was developed by the Russian defence ministry’s Main Robotics Research and Test Centre and the scientific-research centre ROKAD.
It is manually operated and can work on rough terrain such as snow or sand much like the Syrian desert.
The bot will also be fitted with cameras for defusing bombs and radiation sensors in the case of a nuclear catastrophe.
Military expert Oleg Zheltonozhko said: "For rescue, demining and chemical reconnaissance robots working amid the rubble of a combat damaged city, high cross-country capacity is of paramount importance."
The robot’s deployment comes as tensions between Moscow and the West reach boiling point.
It was revealed last night Russia is sending three powerful submarines capable of bombing the besieged Syrian city of Aleppo.
And closer to home, the Lithuanian government has circulated a pamphlet advising its citizens what to do in the event of a Russian invasion.
