Obama and Netanyahu
The United States is disappointed over the recent development on Israel's plan to build more housing settlements in the West Bank.
The White House, speaking through the Press Secretary Josh Earnest believe breaking the promise not to extend building housing settlements will lead to peace deal breakdown and it can be a setback for the peace negotiation between both sides.
"We did receive public assurances from the Israeli government that contradict this announcement," he said. "I guess when we're talking about how good friends treat one another, that's a source of serious concern as well."
In June 2009 Israeli prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a "public assurance" speech at Bar Ilan University where he said, "The territorial issues will be discussed in a permanent agreement. Till then we have no intention to build new settlements or set aside land for new settlements."
Now the Prime Minister seem breaking the word and about to start extending its housing settlements on the West Bank.
