In an effort to regain good relationship with the White House, Vladimir Putin has issued citizenship to Hollywood actor

Vladimir Putin of Russia have presented a citizenship passport to Hollywood star Steven Seagal on Friday the 25th, 2016 after the star was invited by the Russian leader, who happened to be a fan of the actor.

Steven Seagal is said to had signed the passport in front of Putin in Moscow, Russia. 

It will be recall that Washington and Moscow are currently not in good terms following the invasion of Syria and Ukraine by Russia and other issues surrounding the current war in the middle east nation.

Putin believes with the step of issuing the American actor, Washington will see how they want things to go well with the two nations.

After the presentation of the passport, Russia leader asked Seagal how he felt with the citizenship, he replied "everything is good. We will talk later. For now just honoured to be here."

After the signing of the passport, Putin said: "I want to congratulate you and express the hope that this is another, albeit small, gesture and it might be a sign of the gradual normalization of relations between our countries."

Kremlin spokesman added, that Seagal’s "warm feelings towards Russia" and his celebrity as the reasons for granting the gesture.

Putin is also hoping that relationship between Washington and Moscow will improve with Donald Trump being the next US president.
