Shimon Peres
Two time prime minister and a one time president of Israel, Shimon Peres, has died at the age of 93 after suffering a stroke two weeks ago, although his condition was improving before deteriorating.Shimon Peres's son Chemi Peres led tribute as saying: "one of the founding fathers of the state of Israel" who "worked tirelessly" for it.
Mr Peres was one of the last of a generation of Israeli politicians present at the new nation's birth in 1948.
