Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have failed in their appeals against FIFA's transfer ban.

FIFA sanctioned both Madrid and their cross-city rivals Atletico over 'irregularities in the signing of minors' in January - the same offence for which Barcelona received their embargo.

The pair both appealed against their "inappropriate" two-window bans but the Bernabeu club revealed in an official statement on Thursday that their appeal had been unsuccessful.

"We are disappointed in the decision on the grounds that is profoundly unfair and contrary to the most elementary principles of law.

"The club will make a corresponding appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), requesting the ban be revoked, with full confidence of obtaining a favorable decision.

"Real Madrid CF will request that the procedure is processed by way of urgency in order to obtain a resolution as soon as possible", same also with Atlético Madrid over the transfer ban.
