A lot of friends and family have been paying tributes to Lydia Lewinson after she had an accident while working abroad, which took her life.
Stella Gonzela, a friend of Lydia has created a GoFundMe page to enable them raise £6,000 to have the 22 year old flown home to be buried in Coventry, UK.
According to the Coventry Telegraph more than £5,000 has already been raised within the first five hours.
The page’s description reads: “Any donation would be great, but £6,000 is the ultimate goal to bring our beautiful friend back from Ayia Napa and have her buried in Coventry, where her friends and family can have a beautiful ceremony for her.
“Lydia was a very popular girl and was always the life of the party.
"She had many friends and everyone loved her.”
Hundreds more people from across the UK, Spain and Cyprus have taken to social media to share their grief at losing their friend and colleague, who had been working in Ayia Napa for less than a month.
One fundraiser on the GoFundMe page wrote: “You’re the naughty little sister I never had Lyd! Your smile will never be forgotten.
"Forever in my heart. Love you always.”
Another wrote: “My beautiful friend let’s bring you home.”
One donor added: “You never failed to have me in tears of laughter. You will be missed. Fly high beautiful lady.”
A spokesman from the Cypriot Police said: “A 22-year-old woman was fatally injured in a moped accident in Ayia Napa.
“She was driving her moped at the road between Ayia Napa and Potamos tou Liopetriou.
“Under unknown circumstances for the time being, she lost control of her moped, hit a kerb and she fell on the asphalt.
“She was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. She succumbed to her injuries at around 5.40pm. The accident took place at 2.20pm.
“Her family has been informed accordingly.”
Lydia Lewinson is said to be a holiday rep from Coventry, UK, was involved in a moped crash near a resort in Ayia Napa, Cyprus that had her suffered serious injuries on her head, which led to her death on Wednesday afternoon.
