    Brazilian Hulk, Has Signed for Chinese Super League Side Which Appeared to be Club Record Signing


    Brazilian forward Hulk was given a hero's welcome on his arrival ahead of finalizing a move to Shanghai SIPG that would break the cashed-up Chinese Super League's transfer record.

    Hulk, who turns 30 next month, arrived in China to undergo a medical before finalizing the transfer which gave Zenit St Petersburg, his former club a total of €58million (£48m).

    "Zenit after reaching a preliminary agreement with Shanghai SIPG concerning the transfer of Hulk, and on Wednesday the player undergone a medical that saw him complete the record move.

    "Zenit received around €56m (£46.3m), while a further €2m (£1.7m) could be added to the total price."

    Hulk will play under former England boss Sven Goran Eriksen with his new home ground the 56,842-capacity Shanghai Stadium, which is owned by the Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG).

    He has scored 11 goals in his 46 appearances for Brazil.

    At Zenit, where he arrived from Porto for a bumper £39m, he found the net 56 times in 97 Russian Premier League matches.
