Tension as Turkey's Iron Lady gets Significant Support From MHP Members and that could thwart Erdogan's game Plan

Meral Aksener represents a significant threat to Erdogan's plans to change the system into an executive presidency.

With a lot of support from the MHP Meral's victory is almost certain and if that happens, it could be the end of Erdogan's plans of implementing his government of executive in the presidency.

"Meral Aksener is a 59 year old Turkish politician. Meral Aksener is planning of bidding for the taking over the mantle of leadership in the Nationalist Movement Party (NMP) from Devlet Bahceli, when the special party congress holds in July 10th 2016.

"There are rumors going about if the special congress will hold due to internal and legal obstacles said to have been manipulated by the ruling party (Justice and Development Party). Following a decision that was made in May 24th it means there is possibility that the congress is going to hold according to Al jazeera.

The percentages of Nationalist Development Party (MHP) under the leadership of Aksener is ranging from 20-25% and that means there is every possibility of her taking over from Devlet Bahceli and many are saying she got the potentials of shaking up the country's political landscape.

"From the effort she has pull and with a stronger party Miral Aksener has the potential to hammer the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan's plan to fully consolidate his poer by transforming Turkey's governance system into an executive presidency.

                             

From all she has archived in her political career, many has compared her with the British "Iron Lady", Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and she pulls a threat to Erdogan's  selfish plans, and that could make the world see Erdogan as less powerful even in Turkey as well.
