The current Champions took the lead through the newly Real Madrid signed striker, Alvaro Morata after Cesc Fabregas chip the ball ahead of Croatia's Goal keeper Danijel, wit Morata tapping the ball into the back of the net.
Croatia equalizing came when Ivan Rakitic shot hit the woodwork and met Kalinic who turned Ivan Perisic corner across Spain's stopper.
Sergio Ramos missed a penalty thanks to Croatia's Danijel who saved the penalty from the spot before Ivan Perisic scoring the winner in the 87th minute of regulation time to make it Croatia 2, Spain 1, which put Croatia on top of Group D with 7 points and leaving Spain with 6 points.
Spain will now play Italy in the knockout stage while Croatia battles either Belgium, Sweden or Republic of Ireland who will be playing their last group matches later this evening.
