"In particular, there is no confidence in our ability to win the next general election, which may come sooner than expected, if Jeremy continues as leader.
"In a phone call to Jeremy I told him I had lost confidence in his ability to lead the party and he dismissed me."
The sacking of Benn has raised many controversies in the party and the public. somebody's Twitte below:

The reason for the sack is labelled to a rumour that Mr Benn met with some MPs during the weekend to seek for support against MPs over his inconsistency and incapability to win an election and calling for his stepping down a the Party's leader.
The party leader has faced accusations from his own MPs that he led a weak campaign in the EU referendum and is facing a motion of no confidence.
But the Party leader vowed to resist any negative decision asking him to stand down and that he will rather rely on the grass root party members to achieve his goal for the party and the people of Britain.
Ben Bradshaw, a former culture secretary urged the shadow cabinet members to trade with causion to "save" the party.
Mr Ben said "The Labour shadow cabinet must now act to save the party and for the sake of the country. Otherwise we will never be forgiven."

"Lots of good people chose to serve in shadow cabinet to keep the show on the road. There are no longer good reasons for good people to stay," Labour MP Wes Streeting said.
It seems the campaign of the Labour Party to leave the EU has come back to hunt them as the referendum has taken another dimension.
