Germany Are Through to the Quarter Finals after Defeating Slovakia in the Ongoing Euro 2016

    German Players Celebrating a Goal

    Draxler's Goal

Germans were the better side as they overpowered Slovakia comfortably to reach the quarter finals of the Euro 2016 tournament holding in France.

The German machines are to wait for the game between Italy vs Spain to know their opponent in the quarter finals.

The first goal of the game came through the outstanding central-defender, Jerome Boateng after just 8 minutes of the game into the game from 25 yards.

It was Marion Gomez who gave the Germans the second goal as he poked the ball into the back of the net, then the third goal came in through spectacular Draxler.

It would have be four when Germans got a penalty but the Slovakian goal stopper was able to save Metsut Ozil's spot kick in the 14th minute of the game.

Germans will be waiting for the game between Italy and Spain, to know who to face in Bordeaux come next Saturday.

Slovakian would have been able to get one goal as their only best chance came when Juraj Kucka's header was saved by Manuel Neuer through a brilliant tip.

Draxler on his display: I am happy that I put in a good performance today and that I was able to help the team.

"It is hard for me to say if this was my best or second-best game in a Germany shirt. Others can judge that better.

"We have a very capable side. So it's no problem if you are not playing in one game or the other. I tried not to let it get to me and to show in training that the coach could count on me.

"In the team talk the coach told me to look for one-on-ones. He has given me a lot of confidence and made it clear to me that I am a good player."

Slovakia goalkeeper Matus Kozacik: "We feel sorry because, from the beginning, the Germans dominated. We did not make them suffer at all. It is a pity.

"Perhaps after we defeated them in the [pre-Euros friendly], they prepared better. They played in a disciplined way and showed their greatness.

"If Kucka could have scored, we might have done something but their second goal was decisive.

"We have achieved a lot, I am very happy I could be here. After some time, we will appreciate it even more."

Since the start of the competition, Germans have been able to keep four clean sheets in the Euro 2016 competition.

Gomez has joined the likes of Jurgen Klinsmann as the top scorer at the European Championships as both have five goals each but Gomez still got the chance to extend the goal tally as they are still in the competition.

Draxler has joined Philipp Lahm as he scored and made one assist today which means both Philipp Lahm and Draxler are the only German players who have done that, Philipp Lahm did it in 2008 against Turkey.
