President Yahya Jammeh of Gambia
President Yahya Jammeh, who have been in power over 22 years now, conceded to a defeat in the Friday's Gambia presidential general election, after a property developer Adama Barrow.
Adama Barrow shocked the world when he scored more than 45% of the votes to defeat President Yahya Jammeh who have been in power for 22-years.
It will be recall, Jammed came into power through a coup in 1994 and has been ruling since then and many know him to be a dictor.
Alieu Momar Njie, the electoral commission chief, announced the results of the general election and also said the Yahya Jammeh has conceded to defeat in the hands of property developer, Adama Barrow.
It is on record that ever since Gambia got her independence in 1965, it has never had a smooth transition of power and many fears of what might happen now that dictator Yahya has lose the general election.
According to the electoral chief, Adama Barrow won 263,515 votes (45.5%) in Thursday's election, while President Yahya Jammeh took 212,099 (36.7%), and the third party candidate, Mama Kandeh, won 102,969 (17.8%).
After announcing the general election results, the electoral chief, Alieu Momar Njie said: "There will be celebrations, there will be disappointment, but we all know we are all Gambia".
