Tupac Shakur the late rap icon has been nominated for 'Rock and Roll Hall of Fame'

Tupac Shakur has just be nominated for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Even as the rap icon is already gone, his legacy still does the job, Tupac with 19 other nominees are among the 2017 Rock Hall. Other eligible acts include Pearl Jam, Jane’s Addiction, and Depeche Mode, who all earned nods for induction in their first year of eligibility, according to The New York Times.

If ‘Pac is voted in, he would be just the sixth hip-hop act in The Hall following Grandmaster Flash, Run-DMC, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, and N.W.A.

The World’s Most Dangerous Group was inducted earlier this year by Kendrick Lamar. "Are we rock and roll?" Ice Cube asked at the annual event. "I say, you goddamn right we rock and roll. Rock and roll is not an instrument. Rock and roll is not even a style of music. Rock and roll is a spirit."

Janet Jackson and Chaka Khan are among this year’s repeat nominees, both on their second nomination. Kraftwerk, meanwhile, the influential band that inspired several hip-hop classics by Afrika Bambaataa and Soulsonic Force, Dr. Dre, Timbaland, and Pharrell, receives its fourth nod.

The final announcement will be made in December and ceremony will follow in April at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, United State.
