Is it a wise move by the South Africa government? as they make the move of withdrawing from war crime Court.

    President Jacob Zuma
A recent report says South Africa have formally begun the processing of dumping the International Criminal Court (ICC), claiming they are have no fair judgement towards Africa and that they are bias.
    President Omar al-Bashir
The United Nations have been notified according to South Africa diplomats, it will be recall that sometime back in 2015 South Africa government were directed by ICC to arrest Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on genocide and war crimes, while he was on a visit to attend African Union Summit in Johannesburg.

However President Omar denied the allegations levied against him by the ICC, that he never caused such atrocities in the troubled Sudan's western Darfur region.

Since the speculation of the South Africa's withdrawing from the ICC started, none of the S.A or UN officials has commented, media houses says.

But other reports from some media houses claiming they got hold of a copy of the "Instruments of Withdrawal" signed by the Foreign Minister of South Africa.

"The Republic of South Africa has found that its obligations with respect to the peaceful resolution of conflicts at times are incompatible with the interpretation given by the International Criminal Court," the document says.

Can South Africa leave the ICC without the approval of the parliament? these are the questions experts are keen on.

However the Human Rights watch have highly criticized the move by South Africa, also reports claims.

Dewa Mavhinga, the NGO's Africa division senior researcher: "South Africa's proposed withdrawal from the International Criminal Court shows startling disregard for justice from a country long seen as a global leader on accountability for victims of the gravest crimes".

The senior researcher added: "It's important both for South Africa and the region that this runaway train be slowed down and South Africa's hard-won legacy of standing with victims of mass atrocities be restored".

Sometime last year South Africa government threatened to pull out of ICC, now is like it is finally happening just after President Zuma visited the Kenya, a country that has issues with the policies and altitudes in which ICC operates, ever since President Uhuru Keyatta was charged with crimes against humanity but denied the charges.

Reports says there were no much evidence t back-up the case, that was how the case collapsed on the President Keyatta.

The International Criminal Court was opened to 124 members in 2002 and since then, the body have been trying and prosecuting leaders of crimes, it is the first legal body with permanent international jurisdiction to prosecute genocide, cromes against humanity and war crimes but despite all these efforts, Burundi, was the first African nation to express its intention to pull out of ICC.

The move was highly criticized by ICC, calling it "a setback in the fight against impunity".

It will be recall that sometime back, the Africa Union (UN) urged member states to stop co-operating with the International Criiminal Court (ICC), accusing the body of being bias towards its member countries.
