    Cameroon football legend, Rigobert Song is fighting for his life after suffering cerebrack attack

    A former Cameroonian footballer Rigobert Song is in critical condition and fighting for his life in a  Yaounde hospital after suffering a cerebral attack, a family member has told BBC.

    The family member also said the 40-year-old was "unconscious" when he was taken to Yaounde Central Hospital.

    Song will be flown to France for further treatment emergency Centre director of the hospital said on Monday.

    Rigobert Song has been working as a coach for Cameroon's football federation following his departure as Chad coach.

    Samuel Eto'o former Cameroon team-mate tweeted in French: "I wish you courage and a speedy recovery big brother."

    Song's club-mates during his playing days has sent him well wishing messages: Ex-Liverpool players Jamie Carragher, Stan Collymore and Robbie Fowler have also sent messages of support, while the Anfield club tweeted: "Our thoughts are with Rigobert Song and his family at this time."
