Andres Villas-Boas has revealed that Jose Mourinho was his Idol until he went out on his own to become a boss

Andres Villas-Boas has spoken on the relationship between himself and Jose Mourinho when he was working under the now Manchester United coach and after he has become his own boss.

When the pair were together;

When the two were together, Mourinho referred to Villas-Boas as his 'eyes and ears'.

The relationship is so bad that Villas-Boas claimed they haven't even spoken for so long now that he doesn't even have Mourinho's Mobile number.

The pair both managed Chelsea football club in different occasions but the special one was the most successful in Chelsea while Villas-Boas later managed Tottenham but was sacked after few months.

The pair got similar history before becoming Chelsea managers respectively, Jose Mourinho was bought from Porto after seeing them through Champions League trophy while Villas-Boas was also hired from Porto to Chelsea after winning treble with the club.

Andres Villas-Boas words: "In my formative moments working with Jose was the best time of my life I was able to lean to many things and working with him takes you to another level," on Tuesday.

"You fall in love with him and he becomes your idol.

"I wanted to be like him, know everything that he knew and absorb all the information he was giving."

"Then you fall on the wrong side of Jose and that’s when things change and you realise that you’ve been blinded by someone.

"He has this fascinating capability of getting the best out of you, which has good or bad consequences for people.

“My consequences were that as a result of the argument or disagreement we had, I started my coaching career.”
