Read a brief living condition in North Cyprus (It affects most especially the foreigners)

North Cyprus is trying every effort to increase its revenue. Tourism and schools are their major source of income for the Island and now it has started campaign to attract UK and British tourists as well.

According to daily newspaper Milliyet, North Cyprus authorities have launched tourism campaign with the caption, “Just relax; there are no euro worries in north Cyprus”.

The main emphasis for the promotional campaign is that North Cyprus is not affected by Current financial crisis in government controlled areas.

Major attractive slogans for tourists’ are Do you know this? North Cyprus is not in the euro zone”, “It does not use the euro”, “Just relax; there are no euro worries in north Cyprus”, and, “We are the other half part of Cyprus, we are separated, we use the Turkish Lira”.

The campaign will benefit North Cyprus in two ways:

Firstly, it will make people aware about North Cyprus; its people and may help in changing the perception about North Cyprus.

    Turkish Lira and the Dollar

Secondly, people will come to know about its division and two separate currencies working in Cyprus. Euro note and Turkish Lira.

Imagine 1 euro is 3.348 to Turkish lira, But on other way round, both temporary and permanent residence like, students and foreigners do face the euro and pounds to pay house rent and school fees.

Majority of the workers are being paid with their local currency Turkish lira, while the major bills like housing and school fees are being paid with euro or pounds.

It is worrisome on how students survived in North Cyprus because the jobs are not easy to come-by and even when it finally comes, it's neither in building construction, farming, working in an unsafe factory where there is no health insurance.
