    Breaking News As Germany Beat Italy to Qualify to Book Semi-Final Ticket


    Germany and Italy in Action

    It was a battle of two great footballing nations, no doubt they proved it on the pitch as it all ended 1-1 draw after extra time but at the end it was Germany who was the better side in Bordeaux.

    Germany defeated Italy on penalty shootout after the full 90mins was played and including extra time making it 120mins.

    Mesut Ozil, Thomas Muller, Bastian Schweinsteiger missed the penalty but Jonas Hector hit the winner after Matteo Darmian missed Italy's penalty.

    Since 1984, Germany had not missed a single penalty in a shootout.

    Graziano Pelle, Leonardo Bonucci, Matteo Darmian and Simone Zaza all missed for Italy.

    With this win for Germany, they will now have to wait for the game between France and Iceland, to know her opponent in the Semi-Finals of the Euro 2016 tournament

    Portugal and Wales will play their Semi-Finals on Wednesday next week while Germany and it's opponent will play Thursday next week in Marseille.

    Germany had scored 21 times from the spot in succession in major tournament shootouts but missed three times as both nations traded some terrible penalties.

     When Bonucci Equalized for Italy

    As at the time of the game, it was Germany who struck first through Mesut Ozil in the 65th minute before Italy equalized through penalty spot after Jerome Boateng handled the ball in the box and Italy's Bonucci converted the penalty in the 78th minute, making it 1-1.
