APC supporters celebrating
APC came out victorious in Imo north senatorial district, two of the state constituencies.
INEC announced the result hours of 29th July, 2016, wwhich Ben Uwajumogu of the APC was declared the winner of the re-run Imo north senatorial district poll that was held on the 28th of same year.
Uwajumogu scored 56,076 votes to defeat Athan Achonu of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 43,815 votes.
In the previous election conducted by INEC between the two political election, Uwajumogu scored a total votes of 48,921 to defeat PDP aspirant, Achonu who scored 40,142 but the conducting body announced that the election was inconclusive.
On the other hand, Nkenna Nzeruo of the APC was announced the winner of Oru East state constituency, same as Collins Chiji who was also annouced the winner of Isiala Mbano state constituency by INEC.

With a message of gratitude by one of the APC winner, Uwajumogu said, "my gratitude goes more to Governor Rochas Okorocha whose structure helped me to win this senatorial election".
With the victories of these APC memebers, the deputy senate president might be at risk of staying last as a vice.
