Saido Mane
Saido Mane gave a thumbs up as the Senegalese forward underwent a medical ahead of completing a blockbuster £30 million move to Liverpool.
The speedy Senegalese forward is expected to be unveiled on Tuesday as the Reds' marquee summer signing.
He appeared relaxed, wearing jeans, a T-shirt and sneakers when spotted outside a Merseyside hospital on Monday morning with confirmation of his fitness considered a formality.
A fee of £30m, less than the Saints' original £40m asking price, will make Mane the Reds' third most expensive acquisition behind Christian Benteke (£32.5m) and Andy Carroll (£35m).
The 24-year-old will be the fourth signing of Jurgen Klopp’s reign as manager.
The German boss turned his attention to Mane after the first choice to boost his strikeforce, Bayern Munich's Mario Gotze, failed to materialise.
Klopp is set to finally get his man having failed to sign Mane during his time at Borussia Dortmund.
Mane has 25 goals in his 75 Premier League games so far and joins new Anfield arrivals Joel Matip,
Marko Grujic and Loris Karius.
Mane brings raw pace and versatility to the Liverpool squad that includes misfiring striker Christian Benteke and injury prone Daniel Sturridge.
He can be deployed out wide, behind a striker or off the front as a second forward, and brings a threat both as a playmaker and an attacker able to get in behind the defence.
